At the South African Chaplain Association (SACA), Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a cornerstone of maintaining excellence within the Chaplaincy and allied professions. We believe that lifelong learning is essential for Chaplains, Counsellors, Pastors, Life Coaches, and related practitioners to remain effective, ethical, and informed in their service delivery.
Our CPD framework is designed to:
- Promote ongoing learning and skills development relevant to the Chaplaincy field.
- Ensure ethical and competent service through regular updates in best practices, regulations, and care methodologies.
- Support professional growth through approved workshops, seminars, online training, mentorship programs, and accredited short courses.
- Encourage reflective practice and accountability in line with national and international standards.
Members are expected to participate in structured CPD activities annually and to maintain a personal CPD portfolio as evidence of their professional development. SACA reviews and endorses CPD activities that align with our mission to equip and empower Chaplains for effective service in diverse contexts
